Now that most of the hard-scape is complete in our front yard (see the transformation here), Brian and I are anxious – desperate even – to get a fence installed that will HIDE the UGLY cedar hedge trunks running up the side of our yard. Nope… they can’t be removed because they belong to the neighbour and they’re green on his side :-(
What do you think…
Should we install a fence like this?!
I have a list of fence-contractors in front of me and I’m about to make some calls…
Stop me before I commit!!
P.S. No worries my bloggy-friends… we’re installing a nice cedar fence. I’m just havin’ a little fun with you! ;-)

Does that colored pencil fence really exist?! Totally wild! Well, at least their guests will never miss their house :)
For some reason I did not have this in mind for you, I wonder Why??!!!
That is just about the coolest fence I've ever seen! Not for everyone, but it definitely expresses the artistic, playful side of the homeowner. Great find! (They look like real pencils, too!)
I would love to have that fence in a playhouse....Christine
Are the stumps yours? Why not use them as the fence posts and put slats in between them.
That is a great fence it is super secure without being menacing or dark. Bravo!
mmm.. I don't think that's the way to go.. hahah!!
Can you take out the stumps? Just wondering? Or I have seen some great wood fences with the slats running horizontally, they look so sleek. Might look nice running staggered up the hill? But I really don't know anything about fences. Just wish mine would fall down and then it can be replaced!
Too bad you're not going with the pencil crayon fence. You would be the talk of the street! Ha ha.
Wow, that fence is crazy! Can you imagine what the neighbours would say?? Can't wait to see your cedar fence!!
Nancy
Cant you plant something infront of the Cedars that would grown and hide them? Kind of a green fence/hedge ?
I actually love that fence. Quirky and artsy. I can imagine the calls to the city by law department though if I did that in my neigbourhood.
