If you entered our Mother’s Day Giveway, you’ll find out if you’re the big winner at the end of this post!!
What a fantastic Saturday!!
As much as I enjoy blogging, the blogsphere can be a lonely place. Sure we connect with one another through our comments (luv them – keep them coming!), we learn a little about the lives of our blog-friends through the topics they write about… but it’s faceless. Our personalities come out in our words and phrases, but it’s just not the same. I’m sure you know what I mean!
Over the last few months I’ve discovered that – right here in my own back yard (lower-mainland, British Columbia [BC], Canada) – there are LOTS of home decor & design, DIY and junk-to-treasure bloggers. Lovely, talented women with similar interests to my own. How fantastic is that?!
So why stay lodged behind our computer screens? Why not take advantage of a beautiful, sunshiney BC Saturday and actually meet – face to gorgeous face – for brunch?!
And that’s exactly what we did… 7 BC BlogGURLS met for afternoon tea!!
We met out in the township of Fort Langley, a charming little community filled with historic buildings. I loved the tree-lined, quaint Glover Road!
And situated on that very road was the Little White House & Co boutique and cafe.
So who are the BC BlogGURLS? In no particular order: Karla from Kerrisdale Design; Nancy from Marcus Design; Barbara from Hodge:Podge; Maria from Colour Me Happy; Catherine from Peace Love Sweater; Tracey from My House of Giggles. Oh… and me (Victoria) ;-)
From left to right: Nancy, Maria, Me, Barbara, Tracey, Catherine & Karla
I’m so excited about building a network of bloggers with this group of women! Of course we’ll increase our numbers… there are a few women who were invited to attend our gathering but were unable to make it. We’ll rope them in for another gathering… and there WILL be other gatherings!!! The BC BlogGURLS network will grow!!!
Below are photos of the decadent yummies we were served for Afternoon Tea!
A few more photographs of our BC BlogGURLS!
I love this photo of us because you can see Catherine – who’s taking our photo - reflected in the mirror! HaHa!!
The boutique at the Little White House & Co. is filled with lovely things…
The LWH is – literally – a little house: it had a vintage bathroom (above) filled with sweet bathroom accessories and decor treats, a wee kitchen with dinner wear, utensils & other kitchen paraphernalia - all in white – stocking the shelves and counter, and bedrooms with decadent linens, inviting pillows and fantastic headboards. I found myself imagining how I would decorate with the special trinkets, beautiful mirrors and original art found throughout the house. The shop owner also has wonderful, chic clothing and accessories displayed everywhere. A simply lovely place to shop and dream!
Such a lovely day!
I can’t wait until our next get-together!!

What fun, Victoria! I've been thinking of doing something here for the Long Island bloggers {never realized just how many there were}. I might wait until September though when it may be a little cooler than the middle of summer. I also want to choose a location where there is some good shopping, too! So lovely to see some familiar faces all together in your pictures. Happy Mother's Day!
What a lovely post, Maria....thanks so much for inviting me! I'm honored to be counted in with you talented ladies!!
It was a perfect spot to meet up...great choice! And thank you for the beautiful flowers and place cards! You're so thoughtful :)
I'm going to do a post about our little get-together later on tonight...is it ok with you if I borrow a picture or two? I cannot believe I didn't have my camera!!!
Happy mother's day to you, my dear!
Victoria, thanks for putting this together. It was wonderful to meet you and all the other ladies as well. How wonderful to feel supported and encouraged by you and the others. It was great to meet other like-minded design obsessed women who all share the same passion even though we come from all different walks of life and ages! I hope this is the beginning of more get others because like Catherine had said to well in her email "she still had a lot of chatting left in her"
I might have to borrow some of yours and Nancy's photos for my post because I forgot to take more photos, it could be because I was in AWE!
Awesome post Victoria!! Love the photos you snapped, they are so great :) Thank you so much for your planning, and I totally agree with you, this is only the beginning! We will have to grow this group and have many more wonderful events!!

How fun!!! Gee, I should look into who's blogging around my neck of the woods. If I can't find anyone, then maybe I need to move west ;)
Victoria thank you thank you for planning this! It was lovely to meet you and all the other ladies in person, and I'm looking forward to the next event! Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!!!
