Some pretty pics of Peggy’s Cove I took last Friday… who says it’s always foggy at Peggy’s Cove?!
The original lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove was built in 1868. It was a wooden house with a beacon on the roof. It was replaced with the current concrete & steel lighthouse in 1914. There’s a small post office in the lower level of the lighthouse. During the summer months, it serves as the village post office. Each piece of mail that’s sent out receives a special cancellation mark in the shape of the lighthouse.
And if you’re still wondering where I was when I took this picture I posted on Saturday…
I was here!! Those are my shoes at the bottom of the picture.
And speaking of boats… I have a special Nova Scotia post planned for tomorrow’s Hooked on Friday’s blog party. I hope you’ll come by and check it out :-)
