Cute Critters

Yesterday over at The Zhush, Susan posted this picture of her living room:

From the crown moulding to the carpet, I just adore everything about this room. And take a close at the mantel… how cool is that silver balloon dog?! I love it!! I want it!! So I set out on a search to find it… and I did :-) Or something really similar, anyway. It took some work, but I finally landed on Anima Causa Boutique, where they sell the Doggy Bank for $79.00:

I’ve put in my request with hubby to get me one for my birthday :-)

And speaking of cute critters, I came across this adorable little owl lamp base at Urban Outfitters:

He seems to be out of stock at the moment, but hopefully he’ll fly back into the store soon!!

(Michelle left a comment with a link to another owl lamp option at Target. This one is cute too — Thanks Michelle!!)

If you happen to be wanting to hang ostrich wallpaper in your living room but don’t know where to find it, you’re in luck!! Shannon from What’s Up Whimsy guest posted over at Staci Edwards Design Blog yesterday, and shared this picture from Lonny magazine:

The wallpaper is from Beware the Moon in the UK and comes in three colourways:

If ostriches are a little too exotic for you, how about dogs?? Osborne & Little’s Best In Show wallpaper is perfect for dog-lovers.

It comes in three colourways:

Thibaut sells a dog wallpaper which also happens to be called Best in Show, and it’s available in six colourways: Aqua, Metallic, Black, Camel, Blue, and Brown:

You might remember Sarah Richardson using this wallpaper in a nursery she designed for a set of triplets on Design Inc.

Sarah and her team created the artwork above the cribs by cutting out individual dogs from the paper and framing them. A bit labour-intensive, but a great way to create original art.

Oh, and I just came across this picture on the Massucco Warner Miller web site (check out Nancy’s Q&A with these three uber-talented ladies). It’s the Zebra wallpaper from Sclamandré, available in Masai Red, Serengeti Green, Zanzibar Gold, and Safari Brown:

Would you welcome any of these cute critters into your home??

Oooh!! What a lovely round up of items, I need to book mark this Kelly! I LOVE the balloon dog, how perfectly whimsical. And you have a great eye cause I saw Sue's room over at The Zhush and I didn't even notice the little critter! Thank you so much for linking to my post, I really appreciate it! Have a great Wednesday Kelly :)

Dear Kelly,
although I am not so much a fan of "crittered" wall paper I must say that the last example with the zebras from Scalamandré is somehow appealing to me. With that set-up it looks really beautiful. I think in the right house in a guest powder room this could look lovely!
Warm greetings from Munich!

I'm loving the dog wallpaper. My husband and I are huge dog lovers (he's going to be a vet) and we have two of our own (a chocolate lab and a miniature dachshund which just happen to be included in the wallpaper) I love whimsical objects that represent things I'm passionate about. I have been wishing for the Robert Abbey Mr. Puppy lamp for years.

I don't know why. For some reason I always liked the owl lamp from Urban Outfitter.

Kelly,

It appears we're being invaded by livestock, exotic, domestic, fictional and fantasy animals. What fun to love the balloon dog bank!

Hmmm... Not sure I could do critter paper, but I do like the inspiration rooms you've shared! :-) Thanks for sharing The Zhush's living room too. Love that.

Hmmm. Left a comment and it disappeared on me. So if two show up, that's why. :)

Anyway, I was saying that I think that silver balloon dog is so fun--I hadn't seen those before, and I didn't even notice it on her mantel until you pointed it out. Her living room is beautiful!

Of course, all cute critters are welcome in my home (humans too)! Love the balloon dog, I've seen a big gold stature like that online, I really love this take home version :) And Susan's living room is to die for! I love every aspect of it too!!
