I came across some wonderful summery pictures recently over at Passion for Decor. The red & green polka dot dishes in this picture caught my eye. They’re so fresh and charming — perfect for a summer picnic :-) In fact, I think polka dots are the perfect summer accessory.
And so came about the inspiration for this post about polka dots. I have to warn you, there’s a LOT of cool polka dot stuff out there, from this adorable polka dot piggy bank…

This nursery was designed by Sarah Richardson on season 2 of Sarah’s House. Tommy’s reasoning why for why it was OK for the nursery to be such a small room — because babies are small!!
Of course, polka dots aren’t relegated to nurseries — although they do seem to be a popular choice for bedrooms…
There are lots of things about this bedroom that I like — the turquoise & green colour combo, the bench with the lucite legs, the vaulted ceiling, the tall windows… and the polka dots, of course :-)

Wow! You weren't kidding when you said you were featuring a lot of polka dot stuff. I am a fan of polka dots, if done liberally. I love that AGA Stove! And I love the rooms where there is a hint of the dots here and there. That being said, I want to do a kids room with a wall of polka dots, but I don't know if I would do it for my bedroom. Thanks for all the fun images!
Wowzers, that's a lot of polka dots. Who knew there were that many (and i'm sure still tons more) of polka dot decor and items? I like them, there is just something inherently "happy" about them, you know? Like, you can't be wearing polka dots and be in a crappy mood.
Holy Cow!! (cause cows are dotted, get it? ha) What a cool post, loving the dots on the ceiling, I might have to do that to my little girl's room :)

Wow, thats a ton of pola dots. Love the Airstream interior, although I am not sure I could live with all those dots. I have the coffee cups by Emma Bridgewater that match that aga if I could afford it.
I absolutely love them! I really would love to be the proud owner of that polka dot oven! So unique. Plus, since nobody else would probably want it, I'd get to take it with me whenever I move! :P

Love this post Kelly! Pola dots are awesome, my most favorite blouse is black with white polka dots. I think polka dots can range from classic and classy to whimsical and wild!! Love all the examples you chose to show here. That stove is pretty amazing :)
