Of course… a Candice Olson WOW kitchen!

A quick BOO at the on-line Globe and Mail (Canadian newspaper) “Life” section this morning and what do I find? An absolutely stunning kitchen transformation orchestrated by Candice Olson!

WOW!!

This is the kitchen of Stylist David Clemmer – the host of a Canadian (not sure if it shows in the US) show called Style by Jury and, as I’ve come to realize, owner of an agency that represents costume designers, make-up artists and other talent.

So in other words, a guy that knows design and style. I mean… take a look at what he did with his living room. I’m LOVING the use of natural materials, textures & colours with the grey!

At any rate, in the article I found in the “Life” section of the Globe and Mail Candice tells readers that David had worked his magic in all of his rooms but was stymied by his dysfunctional 80s kitchen… so he called Candice and her team in to stroke the space with HER brand of magic! And I think it’s stunning!!

Here… take a look at David’s kitchen before:

And again… the after:

The first thing I noticed was the openness of the space… well, okay… not exactly the FIRST thing! The first thing I noticed was that decadent wallpaper!! Oh… and the fantastic dark wood island grounded around soft, creamy kitchen cabinetry. And how about those two beautiful chandeliers?! Can you see how the beautiful mosaic tiles over the range mimic the colours and style-essence found in the wallpaper? How about those long floor tiles laid in an off-set pattern. I love tiles! Oops! Sidetracked!! I wanted to point out the openness achieved by removing the bathroom that sat in the upper left corner of the room, but the loveliness of the room took control!! :-)

Finally… the last thing I want you to notice? The two sweet little beds under the desk for David’s pooches!!

When it comes to kitchens – heck, any space(!) – Candice Olson can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned. What do you think?

She is amazing. Thanks for sharing this! Even though I know the incredible work she is able to do, she stills surprises me! What a glamorous kitchen (but I'm sure it is still very functional - another thing I love about Candice's designs).

Candice Olson is one of my very favorite designers, if not my favorite. Even when the room is not something I would choose for myself, I'm ALWAYS amazed at her style. And this kitchen is fabulous! She did a basement room once that just totally knocked me out, made me wish we had a basement lol. Kathy

I agree - she's my favorite designer on TV. This episode of Divine Design aired here in the States recently and I was agog at the transformation! LOVE IT!

Wow is right! How in the world does she do it? If I didn't love my kitchen so much I would be jealous.

She's a genius with lighting, isn't she? I study and study her interiors and I still don't quite "get it". I suppose it's simply an art and not a formula?

I like Candace and I respect her work. Maybe it's due to branding herself, but her interiors are all looking the same.

Candice cleans the space so we breathe easiler and enjoy spending more time in them. She leads the client to where they want to go design wise and we love seeing the end result...Perfection at it's best!

Love me some Candice Olsen! That wallpaper is fabulous, and so is the floor. I would LIVE in that kitchen, she always does the right amount of classic style mixed with unique modern. She really is the Queen of Kitchen Renovations-

I'm not fond of the floors but otherwise it's quite nice. I'm not a lover of tile (I have it through out) but I prefer the dark tile in the before.

Fabulous kitchen indeed! But just to give credit where credit is due, the living room was designed by Suzanne Dimma and her Style Dept. team from Wish magazine back in the day...:)

I happened to see this episode on TV here in the US. I was blown away- there were so many fabulous aspects of this design- Candice is my favorite- all of her renovations amaze me! I love the floor, wallpaper and the long desk the best. If I ever won the lottery- she would be the Designer I called first!
