Reflections: Summer sunset

Every Friday, Chania at Razmataz holds the Friday Photo Challenge. This week’s subject is Reflections. I just had to participate with this picture of a summer sunset at the cottage:

reflections

Summer isn’t summer without weekends at the cottage. Of course, I love swimming under sunny blue skies — but I also love swimming in the evening. If there are clouds in the western sky, I get to see beautiful sunsets like this one. And then as the sky gets darker, the stars start popping out. First a bright one in the western sky, then a couple almost directly overhead. And then I look towards the north and there’s the Big Dipper to the west and Cassiopeia to the east. And if I’m really lucky, I’ll see a shooting star.

I might try to squeeze out a couple more days of swimming at the cottage this weekend.  But with the rain and colder temps this week, the lake might be on the cold side… brrrrr!!

PS: Thanks Kat for your suggestion to link to Newton Daily Photo — done!! Be sure to check out the great Weekend Reflections photos on James’s blog.

Whatever your plans are for the weekend, have a good one!!

Lucky you! We always manage to get our best weather here in the San Francisco area in Sept. after we've all gone back to work/school :(

That is such a beautiful view! It's chilly here, too. I think we're supposed to get the rain on Sunday.

How gorgeous! That photo is almost like a painting and deserves to be framed. Late summer/fall sunsets can be quite spectacular in Canada as I remember from long ago.

Kelly,

We truly are blessed to live in heaven on earth. How could we ask for anything more. Beauty, peace, tranquility, reflection... life is good. Enjoy!
