Kate, a previous client of mine (see how I transformed her fireplace), recently referred me to her co-worker, Bonnie… and my first staging assignment!
Bonnie and her growing family just bought a house and they’re excited! Of course that means that now it’s time to leave their condo behind.
Problem. They’ve outgrown the space and so it’s pretty cluttered!
I met with the family last weekend and gave them a list of things to do… starting with packing away pretty much everything! They’ll also patch and repaint some walls, clean carpets and move some furniture into different locations. If I had my way they’d move some things out to the new house, but the budget is small for this project so we’ll work with what’s in the condo. No worries… I have some plans!
Speaking of plans… I went shopping today and picked up some fun things at Ikea. Yes ~ I braved the Ikea crowds on a Saturday afternoon! I’m crazy!!
I still have some bedding and pillows to purchase, but let me show you what I have so far.
The baby’s room is lacking some fun colour… I found this sweet pillow, the 123 baskets and a bright green throw from Ikea. Tomorrow I’ll be sourcing out some curtains that coordinate, as well as something fun for the wall over the crib. I’ll include a few items that I have on hand like these fun handmade rattles and some books, as well as a few of Bonnie’s baby’s toys. I’m feeling good about my plans for this room!
The living room, dining room, kitchen and adjacent den really lack colour. Once I have clean, decluttered spaces, I’ll bring in some of my favourite colour… orange! Not only do I feel it’s a colour that will work with their furnishings, it’s a palette I can support with art and accessories from my own personal attic warehouse! Yep. I’m raiding my boxes! HaHa! So what did I buy at Ikea today? Candles, kitchen towels, a throw for the sofa, and boxes for the den area. Feeling good about my plans for these rooms, too!
Bonnie would like to see the place on the market by the end of next weekend… that means that next Saturday I should be VERY busy!! I’m a little concerned with her timeline because she and her husband have a lot of work to do before I can come in. I won’t worry too much about that because MY JOB is to be ready to go when they are! :-)
I’ll be sure to take after pics…

Can't wait to see what you do with it!
ReplyDeleteLove the bright colors you picked for the baby's room. My daughter wants to go with soft green and orange for her baby stuff. The orange should look very "now" and I hope they get their part of the work done in time. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
ReplyDeleteThe colours will really bring the place to live! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the finished results. I think it will look amazing!
ReplyDeleteVictoria,
ReplyDeleteI think you will do a great job with bringing in the colours you have chosen!
It is always so exciting to redo some places with a small budget! But you will see, that brings the creativity above!
I would love to see the after pics!

really looking forward to seeing the result. I love orange too. In our new condo, my guest bedroom is white with orange accents.
