The kaleidoscope colours of Couch

Need to add some colour and texture to your life?? Like being playful and adventurous?? Want your home to stand out from the crowd?? Then this furniture is for you!!

Couch was established in 2008 by designer Deborah Swift. Couch sources period furniture from around the world, restores it, and upholsters it in gorgeous textural and colourful fabrics. Probably not for everyone, but you have to marvel at the creativity and vision that goes into these innovative and unique pieces of furniture.

Check out the Cezanne Couch in turquoise and purple, two of the top colours for 2010:

Love the diamond tufting, the colourful buttons, and the purple piping:

The nailhead trim is a fantastic detail on the curvy Kew Library Chair:

Who says blue and green should never be seen?? The Provence Chair doesn’t think so :-)

It’s interesting how the traditional look of a patchwork quilt is given a whole new modern twist on these pieces of furniture…

  2. I think they are awesome, but they are a little too bold for my taste. I think they would look great in a woman's retreat (much like a mancave) or in a little girl's bedroom!

  4. Wow.. now that's original! Hard to pull off though.. I wouldn't know how to match them.. it'd have to be the only piece so as not to overdo it.

  5. I really like these. Bokja Designs do similar concepts with antique fabrics. I like them too.

  7. Actuallyl yes. I would have ONE and only one of these in my home. What a great statement piece and each one you've shown is really very tasteful. The rest of the room would need to be neat, tidy, and uncluttered otherwise it would be too much. I honestly could say yes I would have one of these in my home.

  12. LOVE them. Absolutely LOVE them. Thanks for sharing! (For anyone in the Denver area, there's a store called 5 Green Boxes that does the same type of work. Also painted furniture with the same effect.)

  14. Whoa!! I don't think I care for the look of a patchwork sofa but the good thing about it is that no matter what color you paint that room … that sofa will match! Pretty colors though. :-)

  16. The first couch would go so well with my purple velvet loveseat. I have an image of this couch in my living room with other seriously mismatched pieces, a bright colour on the walls (Tiffany blue maybe?), silly lamps, piles of books on the tables with a smattering of dust and me on the couch wraped in a worn, cozy blanket reading a trashy novel . . .
(my decorating idea for that couch is the very reason designers exist)
