Happiness is a New Baby, Sleeping in a Beautiful Nursery!

Julie, Sal & SonnyI’m So Happy!

Just a week ago, one of my little sisters – Julianne – and her partner Sal gave birth to their first baby… a sweet, tiny boy (about 5 1/2 pounds) they call Sonny, named after our father (Dad’s childhood nic-name)!!

The shame of it all – if something sad can be associated with having a beautiful baby – is that they live waaaaay down in Southern California, a long way away from me. That means it’ll likely be a long time before I get to meet baby Sonny :-(

What a Shame!!

If I had MY way they would live here in Vancouver where I could “kidnap” Sonny for trips to the park and the toy store!! HaHa!!

AND… I’d get to help her design a nursery for Sonny!

Since I can’t help physically, I thought I’d help by sharing some wonderful inspiration rooms… check these out, Julianne!!

This first nursery is so fantastic… it inspired Kelly in the design of her office, a room you’ll all see soon I hope! I have and it’s pretty terrific!

If any of you know me… you know I love orange! And I would LOVE to have a nursery like this if I had a baby. Well… except I’m too OLD to have a baby, especially with a fully grown 21 year old son!! HaHa! I suspect that this is the kind of space that Julianne would love, too: a little retro, a little funky, a little whimsical… perfect!

More orange! Don’t you love it with BLUE?! And the large stripes are adorable!

How about a Lego room… how fantastic would that be!! I know that MY son would have flipped for a room like this!

Don’t you LOVE this alphabet wall? My favourite letter is the button “O”, but that zebra “Z” comes in a close Zecond!

How cute!!

I like that this room could grow with a child – terrific colours!

So sweet a room for a baby named Luke! Would Sonny like it?

My husband got a kick out of this… it’s all about golf for him!

Some pops of orange. I can’t stay away from it, I guess! It looks FAB with brown and blue, don’t you think?

This nursery is totally adorable! I’m crazy about the chandelier!!

I’m nuts about this rug! Heck… the room is great too!!

Now obviously Julianne wouldn’t be interested in rooms for girls – at least not yet!! But since I’m sharing nurseries today I thought I’d be remiss if I didn’t showcase some pink rooms :-)

Pink and soft brown… so lovely!

The patch work style rug in this room is very sweet. Ready for a tea party!

Some lovely pink gingham… my Mom would have loved this…

And last but not least… the nursery that Sarah Richardson designed for her first daughter. The fabric used on the chair was inspiration for the wall mural. So whimsical and pretty!!

Stunning!!

Do you think that Julianne can find some inspiration from one of the rooms I’ve shared? I hope so!!

Congratulations to you and Sal, Julianne… I love you!!

This post is being shared with everyone visiting Julia from Hooked on Houses for her Hooked on Fridays blog party. Today I’m hooked on my sister Julianne… I’m hooked on my new wonderful nephew Sonny… and I’m hooked on nurseries!

Be sure to make your way back to Julia’s place to see what the other partiers are hooked on today!

Oh… and I can’t forget!!

Kathy at Creative Home Expressions showcased Kelly the other day in her “5 Things You Didn’t Know About…” series. Be sure to drop over there, check out Kathy’s wonderful blog and find out a few things about Kelly!!
